The East End Social alights in Duke Street on May 31st to be greeted by the open doors of the library, cafés, churches, charity shops, restaurants, art gallery and pubs of this vibrant half mile stretch of Dennistoun between Bellgrove and Duke Street train stations. An all-day cultural Expo of pop-up performances, DJ sets, concerts, choirs and pub quizzes has been declared with music, food, community and carousing top of the agenda.

The Friends of Glasgow Necropolis
If you have never been round the Glasgow Necropolis you are missing out on a part of Glasgow's History. All donations from our tours go to the conservation and restoration of the Glasgow Necropolis. We are also offering Friday evening combined Tour and 2 course meal at Cathedral House Hotel.
Gentle Vinyasa Flow - Thursday's (7.30-8.30pm)
4 Broompark Circus, Dennistoun
Focusing on breath and flow we will begin with a calm approach to some dynamic postures and sequences, we will then wind down with some longer yin-style poses to soothe the mind and body before finally letting go into the restful state of Savasana. Classes taught by Penny Chivas.
Parent and Toddler Art Workshops
Impact Arts (Projects Ltd) 319 Craigpark Drive
Impact Arts are running a series of parent and toddler art workshops as part of the Young Gallery programme. Parents/ guardians and children aged 0 to 3 years old can attend free sessions on Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Fridays which run at 10.30am - 11.30am and 1.30pm - 2.30pm.
Liz Shepherd, artist and Gallery Co-ordinator said:
"These workshops provide a how to guide for playing creatively with children. This opportunity is exclusively for parents from the East End. The end of the workshops will be celebrated with a professional exhibition of art work produced by the children at The Young Gallery. What an amazing thing this is for parents and guardians to tell their children, 'You were an exhibiting artist aged two!'".
Sessions will include:

- Movement and sound
- Sensory drawing
- Music and light

Knitting & Crochet Group
Wednesday Evenings (6-7.30pm)
An informal meet up of knitters and crochet folk of all levels aimed at getting us motivated to start or finish off any woolly projects, share tips and patterns. Help available to show the basics with loan of knitting needles, crochet hooks and books available on the night for anyone looking for ideas. Tell your friends, get your grannies, grab your knitting and hopefully see you all this Wednesday!

StageRite classes are now over for the summer :( however dont panic - we are back for SUMMER SCHOOL on August 9th, 10th & 11th in Dennistoun New Parish Church from 10am-4pm.(early drop off and pick up available) Children ages 4-16 are welcome to come along for 1, 2 or 3 days for lessons in dance, singing & drama by 3 highly trained tutors then perform in a mini showcase on the evening of the 11th for parents/guardians and family to come and watch!!

Dennistoun Diggers Community Garden
We run a small community garden on Circus Drive in Dennistoun. The garden is a space for people in the community to come together, exchange skills and grow food together. We have a mix of personal and community growing space. We are always looking for new members to get involved whether it be just to come help plant, do a bit of weeding. Pulse Dance & Theatre Arts is an innovative and exciting school run by Jacqueline & Nicola Duffy, which has been based in Glasgow's East End for the last 18 years. The team from Silver Deal Active were delighted to receive the Health and Well-being award for groups or projects that promote the improvement of health and well-being within their communities. The prize was presented by Lord Provost Bob Winter at the People’s Palace on the 20th January 2011 as part of The Glasgow Community Champions Awards that acknowledges those who have worked to help people around the east end of Glasgow.
