No water in Craigpark

Noah posted on the 9/01/2014 9:50:03 AM

I have to laugh. There's no water in Craigpark and the Scottish Water website is down for "essential maintenance".

I'm round the corner in Firpark, no water here either. Thought it was maybe just my flat.

Water pressure low in Roebank Street. I've filled up a couple of pots just in case.

There was a huge flood and burst pipes in Cowcaddens, don't know if it could affect the East End?

Good sense of humour there, Philipa Kettle!

A burst water main has been located at Onslow Drive and we are on site carrying out a repair. Customers here and within surrounding areas may experience loss of water supply, low pressure, and discoloured water.

We will be implementing an alternative supply to our customers which will see supplies begin to restore.

Localised flooding has been caused by this and Scottish Water are working to resolve this.

We are sorry for this inconvenience and thank you for your patience.

Hats off to Scottish Water. Our supply went off around 11am, and Onslow Drive was a river shortly afterward, with water also flowing down in the direction of the school. I'm guessing that will be closed tomorrow.

Water was restored to our house by 2.30, which I think is pretty remarkable considering the extent of the flooding. This morning Scottish Water have been out clearing up the street

I agree Frank - they worked through the night - I heard them putting road closure signs up at around 2.30 am this morning.

Supply restored quickly and no harm done not having it for a few hours. Great work by Scottish Water.

I'd like to second Frank and curiouscat's comments. I saw the burst main drama, and there were squads of people and plant on scene very quickly to sort it out. As soon as the water went off, my lovely neighbour drove to the supermarket to get everyone in the close bottled water. In the end, it wasn't off for that long, but the clean-up operation went on for hours. Well done to everyone involved.
