Advice please I live in a housing association flat recently the flat below which is a private let has a new tenant who has a very noisy washing machine which he tends to have on very late at night I have a toddler who goes down early and the floors are vibrating i don't know whether to report it to the H.A as I don't know if it is their responsibility or to approach the tenant directly this has happened several times over the last week and the latest time the noise went on to was almost 2am. they probably don't realise themself how loud the noise is in your flat. if you are on speaking terms with your neighbour then just mention that its very loud and also at that time of night when your child is asleep. if not, then just write a note and pop it through their door. if the noise persists then conact your housing. good luck!

Have you tried having a friendly word with the nieghbour??
Most of the time, people dont realise that their noise can be heard from neighbouring properties.
Its defo the first thing to do! If you go straight for the housing to make a complaint, its likely to cause friction between you both.
Have a friendly word with them. Keep it light hearted (cos people dont respond well to complaints!)... dont get angry, upset or threaten them with anything. A positive aproach is more likely to get the same in return.... and remember to smile! its contagious!
If this falls on deaf ears, there are council people who can help you. if you go to google, search for "safer glasgow". They have a team specially for noise, etc.
Hope it get sorted out for you.

Report it to your Housing Officer at the Housing Association and they will take the issue up on your behalf.
They will only deal with the issue of the late night noise and the vibrating floor, the fact of you having a young child doesn't unfortunaly count towards anything.
It would help the HA if you happened to know who the private landlord is but they can find this out easy enough. If the HA is also the factor then it makes the whole situation even easier.
I had similar issues and the HA were very supportive and got the thing sorted although I had to be persistant and it took a few weeks.
