According to the Milnbank Messenger it's on from 12pm to 4pm. Live music stage - sailing in the pond - gladiator assault course - sports tasters - visual art - community stalls - wrestling - local market.

I don't fancy sailing in that pond have you seen it lately I feel so sorry for the swans and ducks its about time they cleaned both ponds out. the rest of the park seems beautifully kept but the ponds are a disgrace and i know this has a lot to do with the idiots that chuck stuff in them but it never seems to get cleaned out.

Yeah i have wondered why they dont clean up the ponds they are really filthy. Probably because of cuts in council budgets i can never remember it being so dirty and I have frequented the park since childhood. The rest of the park is well maintained maybe it's a separate department.

Did the sailing materialise in the end?

I went up around 2ish and there was no activity in the pond at that time.

very disappointed with the stalls.
would have been nice to see a variety of stands
selling lots of home baking , cheeses , jams and pickle.
i did buy a cupcake and a little fairycake. Price : £2 which i thought was a tad dear.

It was a good fun setup.

Not a bad turnout when I was there (towards the end).

A bit strange how the stage/lorry was parked up and hidden behind those trees.

Aside from this mention on this website, I saw absolutely ZERO posters or any other kind promotion around Dennistoun for it, and I tend to be on the lookout for promo about anything like this.

Who was it organised by? There was an abundance of GHA/police/other housing association type stalls so it could have been any of them.

And I'm all for the police turning up with a friendly presence (kids having a sit in the police van and parping on the horn etc). But I think the little CCTV van with the camera on top of the pole parked there with two people sat inside was overkill (especially considering the nature of the event when there were a few officers milling around) and not a little sinister. But maybe that's just me.

It's a pity they don't have more police patrolling the park i walk my dogs in the evenings and it is full of people drinking and once i even smelled cannabis.

What a shame. They spoil it for everyone else.
