The new shop is a charity shop for Shelter.

Yet another charity shop. Duke Street is becoming a real retail wasteland

I predicted this when the Tesco opened.
Slowly but surely the good businesses will drain away.
What a real shame.

Anon, what's Tesco got to do with Cocoberry closing? A shop selling clothes that expensive on duke street was never going to last. Duke street was going to pot way before Tesco arrived.

I recommend Duke Street adopts the cafe culture /Alfresco Bistro Tibo style Wine Bar thing.Would be a mega goldmine if done properly.

Personally I don't think cocoberry was expensive at all! They sell great value dresses etc, which are more unique than items you can buy from huge chains, so you wont be wearing the same as everyone else..encrypting I've bought from there people have commented on, and I know numerous people who live in other parts of glasgow who travel specifically to cocoberry. Don't see how moving to dundee, where the shop will be in a better location is linked to tesco opening way down the road?!

If cocoberry was in the centre of town, the prices wouldn't be expensive. But for duke street it was.

Clearly not enough people used it, same as Karada, 7 Grams and the cafe before that.
People don't want to hang around in Dennistoun.

I would have to say that Cocoberry hung around Dennistoun for quite a long time!

I think people do want to hang around Dennistoun and I do so with my kids especially in Tibo, buy flowers from Florristers, buy ham and rolls from the wee grocers shop, never out the charity shops and go to Reidvale Housings cafe as much as I can. Cocoberry sold lovely things and some of the prices weren't bad. I think it's a reflection of the times and well done to the girl who ran it for being here for so long. I don't buy clothes from Tesco so don't see what Tesco's has to do with Cocoberry moving on!

That is a shame about Cocoberry , was going to ask them to stock my jewellery range. They always looked to have lovely selection of dresses. I think a move to Dundee is more of a personal reasons than down to lack of trade on Duke Street. It is true Duke st needs help, charity shops won't help. much. Even they won't get the trade they need to survive with so many of them.
