New shop on Duke St/Armadale Street

Anyone know what's going to open at the old chemists in Duke Street/Armadale Street?

Noticed this myself. Looks really nice from the outside - possibly bar/cafe judging by the lighting!

I'd love for someone to post when they know what opens where the chemist was. I lived 2 up in the first close along from Armadale Street many years ago, and the chemist was there back then so it has been around for a lifetime I guess. It used to be called McCutcheon's. Would love to hear what it becomes. Thanks.

Peckhams would be great. It looks like something high-end anyway - the fit-out looks quality.

That chemist was probably one of the last old style chemists in Glasgow, complete with ornate carvings. Pity they ripped it out.

Remember this being a McCutcheons since I was at primary school in late 1960s. Another landmark gone! Refit is looking good though.

Hi, is it apparent yet what is opening where the chemist was at the corner of Duke and Armadale? Thanks.

It's a sandwich/deli. Went past this morning and saw inside to the food counters. They don't have any produce yet and didnt see whether there was room for a seating area.

Went in today. Had a lovely coffee and took away lasagne. Both nice but cupcake disappointing. Looks really good and the staff were very friendly. Lot of work has gone into the design and they serve a great selection of home made cakes, sandwiches and soups. Really, really hope it does ok but not sure it can compete with tapa/tibo. Not that many seats -just a few at window and one table so seems more for take away.

Will keep going in to try and support it.

What's it called?

I saw on the menu board they do soups. Will definitely give it a whirl - not enough decent eateries in Dennistoun.

Unsure about name. The old Chemist shop name is still up. I loved the look of the exposed brickwork.

Good luck to the new venture, its better to have something at that corner as it has been vacant for about 2 years. It's a very comepetitive game the cafe take away business in duke st as there are loads of cafes and take aways.

This place goes straight in near the top for me based on product, service and price. There's lots of nice little touches that are lacking from some of the other establishments. Hopefully they'll take note. Agree that there's a lack of seating but perhaps they're looking into this. The froth of the cappuccino, the quality of the jam and the music choices means it's a big thumbs up from me. Keep doing what you're doing guys and you won't go wrong.

I got a few things in here the other day, a very reasonably priced large slice of chocolate almond brownie, a tasty slice of quiche, and a couple of little shortbread hearts to round things off (10p each!). I'll be popping in to support them in the future and hope they do well.

Was in there today and really liked it. Will definitely go in more often, especially when tables, chairs arrive so can take my kids in. Only sampled the coffee but was lovely and Eleanor the Manager was really nice.

I hope it does well.

I have been in several times and love this wee coffee shop. I hope it is getting enough custom to survive. The home baking is to die for!
