A popular East End charity has received a funding boost from a city shopping mall.

Bluevale Community Club secured a £1,000 grant from the Buchanan Galleries via its Landsec Futures Community Grants programme.

It operates two community centres and a multi-purpose gym in the Haghill area aimed at improving social cohesion, mental and physical health, and providing community-based recovery.

The grant will provide financial backing for the recreational activities the charity carries out, including sports clubs, dance classes, social support groups, and kids clubs organised at the Reidvale Neighbourhood Centre.

It was a joy to meet the dedicated volunteers who help run the charity’s daily activities and events, as well as some children who benefit from attending properly funded clubs and group activities.”
